Minimally-Invasive Electrocoagulation in Tucson, Arizona

What is ThermiVa?

ThermiVa is a minimally invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency energy and can be performed in your physician’s office. The energy is delivered to the inside of the vagina and/or surface of the labia using a specially designed probe to rejuvenate the vaginal area. ThermiVa can be used to treat vaginal dryness, incontinence, improve symptoms of orgasmic dysfunction, and improve aesthetic appearance of the labia. The ThermiVa uses an “S” shaped wand with a thermistor tip that radiates a gentle and effective heat causing tissues to contract while encouraging collagen production resulting in the tightening of the areas treated. The ThermiVa treatment consists of three 40-minute treatments over the course of three months. Tightening benefits may be noticed immediately but the full benefits will appear after the treatment series is complete

Who can Benefit from ThermiVa?

With benefits such as improved vaginal moisture, help with incontinence, better appearance and sexual function, women of a variety of ages and backgrounds can benefit from this quick and effective procedure. As women age, menopause can wreak havoc on the female vaginal structure by causing the tissue to loosen and become dryer which can be very uncomfortable. ThermiVa works as an anti-aging treatment for the vaginal area, creating a more youthful appearance and functionality. In addition to menopausal age women, breast cancer patients on anti-estrogen chemotherapy and women noticing similar changes post pregnancy can also benefit from ThermiVa to reverse these changes.

What is the recovery time from ThermiVa?

ThermiVa is a minimally invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat tissue. Patients can have the procedure done right in the office without the use of anesthesia, incisions, or lasers. After a 40-minute treatment, patients can resume their normal everyday activities with comfort. Some tightening effects may be immediate but it is best to wait the full three months before assessing your results. It is recommended that a yearly follow-up is done to touch up certain areas (one treatment) annually.
